Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection, Wabi-sabi features two Japanese anemones rising from a rounded vase—delicate forms emerging from a richly textured background. The collage elements were hand-torn and layered with expressive freedom, each piece placed with intuitive care. Subtle wrinkles within the paper surface are not flaws but evidence of the artwork’s energetic creation—marks of the artist’s hand and the aliveness of the moment.

This piece is a meditation on simplicity and presence. Though the composition is restrained, there’s movement and emotional current beneath the surface, just waiting to be noticed. Finished with oil paint to amplify form and color, Wabi-sabi offers a reminder: wholeness doesn’t come from perfection, but from embracing the full texture of what is.
