My husband, an avid cyclist, often shares his road tales, and one day, his cycling buddy showed me a photo of mesmerizing graffiti from a train crossing here in Chicagoland. The instant I saw it, I knew I had to capture its soul on canvas. The bright greens, reds, and pinks against the yellow train car pulled me in with a story of bold contrasts and unexpected harmony. I imagined myself hopping on that vibrant train car, heading to an unknown, magical destination. The organic flow of graffiti juxtaposed with the utilitarian details of the train car speaks to my passion for reclaiming industrial spaces with human essence. Painting this piece in acrylics was a journey of joy—starting with a loose freestyle base and adding intricate details where they mattered the most. The vibrant colors and the artistry of the graffiti are the stars of this show, inviting you to dive into the energy and life they exude. Jump the Train isn’t just a painting. "Jump the Train" is a love letter to the untamed spirit of urban life. My husband, an avid cyclist, often finds himself waiting at train crossings, and through his shared snapshots of graffiti-adorned train cars, I found pure inspiration. As I painted, I envisioned myself boarding this vibrant train, wondering which magical destinations awaited.
