When the weather turns cooler I find myself excited for the coming winter days.  Yes I’m one of those Midwesterners who doesn’t mind the cold and snow (though truth be told, I would like the season to be a bit shorter lol).  There is no better reason to get all cozy in front of the fireplace than when it’s snowing and blowing outside.  Honoring the time of dormancy when we rest and regroup and experience the bittersweetness of another year coming to a close.  There’s truly something so balancing about experiencing the change of seasons, including the gray parts.  It really makes you appreciate spring when you have been through the winter.  This piece is painted with acrylics in icy pastel colors, evoking the chill in the air of this scene.  There is minimal contrast in this composition except for the glow on the horizon, which adds to the dreamy early morning vibe. This pristine snowy vista makes me want to bundle up, go enjoy that crisp air and then hurry home to have a warm drink by the fire.  Do you love the cooler-weather seasons as much as I do?
