This 30 × 40" multimedia portrait — collage and oil paint on 1.5" gallery-wrapped canvas — is part of my Portraits of Liberation, Transformation & Imagination series.

It invites you to look closely at the layers: torn paper, painted texture, and luminous color that together hold both defiance and tenderness. The woman’s steady gaze meets you directly, allowing us to see her as strong, vulnerable, and fully human.

This piece is both an offering and a witness — her offering to me of the photo that became my reference, and my offering back: a collective witnessing of the emotions she carries.

The title, With All My Heart, comes from a line in her reflection that stayed with me: “Yet I remain defiant in my resolve to fight for them with all my heart.”

Through collage and paint, I explore how we carry history, hope, and heart all at once.
